Hi! We are Jay, Josey, + Collin - We’re three friends, entrepreneurs, creators, husbands, fathers, and busy people who think it’s important to be as involved as you can in the world around you, but also believe that people deserve to take a damn break every once in a while. That’s why we started this newsletter. Each week, we will put together some our favorite things from the previous week that we think will make you happier, healthier, and more adventurous.
That way you can spend more time missing out while not completely missing out.
Oh, we don’t have an editor for this newsletter so if you find a typo or something just like.. be cool.
A WELLNESS THING FROM JOSEY
I wanted to give an update on my experiment with MUD/WTR from Episode Two.
First, let me say that I really enjoy it, and it certainly has been a nice pick me up in the afternoon. It’s not quite enough of a jolt to be my morning coffee replacement, but I also consume a ton of caffeine (4 shots of espresso) every morning. If you aren’t as much of a caffeine addict as me, it might be perfect for you!
I’ve tried it with hot water and with warm oat milk, and it’s much tastier with oat milk.
I’d give it 8/10.
A MUSIC THING FROM JAY
It may not look like much on the outside, but it’s what is on the inside that really matters. The iconic Muscle Shoals Sound Studio opened in 1969 when studio musicians known as The Swampers - David Hood, Jimmy Johnson, Barry Beckett and Roger Hawkins - left FAME Studio and started their own operation.
Over the years, artists who recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studio included The Rolling Stones, Aretha Franklin, George Michael, Wilson Pickett, Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Joe Cocker, Levon Helm, Paul Simon, Bob Seger, Rod Stewart, Tamiko Jones, and Cat Stevens. Cher's sixth album released in 1969 was titled 3614 Jackson Highway which became the informal name for the studio soon after.
The group closed the Jackson Highway studio in 1979, moving the operation to a new studio at 1000 Alabama Avenue for a brief period. It was partly restored in the early 2000s and was sold to the Muscle Shoals Music Foundation in 2013. This group completed a major restoration and the location reopened on January 9, 2017.
The original studio has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since June 2006.

A MOVIE/SHOW THING FROM JAY
30 Movies That Are Unlike Anything You’ve Seen Before:
These films, each unforgettable in its own way, are essential viewing.
The word unique has to be one of the most overused descriptors in show business; if every movie that got touted as one-of-a-kind by its marketing team actually was, there’d be no further complaints about Hollywood creativity. But every once in a while, I’ll have a cinematic experience that feels genuinely unprecedented, when a work plays with the medium and its modes of storytelling in ways I didn’t think possible. The 30 movies I’ve gathered below - all of which are available to watch online - are singular, whether they’re experimental documentaries, visionary works of animation, or labyrinthine epics. Each is unforgettable, and a reminder of cinema’s potential to flout narrative convention, subvert visual traditions, and find new ways to express timeless themes. - David Sims
A TRAVEL THING FROM JOSEY
With the future of international travel being so unclear I’m betting this summer will be the “year of the road trip” which I think is fantastic.
The U.S. has so much to offer in terms of natural beauty and we sometimes lose sight of it behind our international travel aspirations.

SOMETHING ELSE FROM JAY
I’m always interested in the things that other people carry in their pockets.
Some people stick with the classics of phone, wallet, and keys.
Some people - like myself - go overboard..
Let me know on Twitter what you carry with you!
SOMETHING ELSE FROM JOSEY
Why do all men’s magazines appeal to the lowest common denominator?
Seriously, they stink.
There may have been a time when GQ was good, and Esquire has the occasional well-written article that makes your brain work, but most of it is just crap. 90% of the content is just telling you which overpriced clothing to buy, followed by pictures of an incredibly fit dude like David Beckam to remind you that you aren’t good enough. There’s very little in the way of self-improvement, thought-provoking reads, or anything that actually matters.
It’s junk food for the brain.
End rant.
SOMETHING ELSE FROM COLLIN
Came across this on reddit and thought it was worth sharing.
It’s a search engine called Ecosia that uses the profit they make off searches to plant trees around the world. So next time you are trying to find the nearest exotic bird store, or what the 3rd most common name of the 17th century was (it was Blaise), you can do some good for the earth and support a great cause.
They even have an option to make it your default browser!
